3D Technology May 2011
Having fallen in love with the Narrow Depth of Field of DSLR video, I wanted to resist 3D technology. That is until I shot a wedding with our binocular stereoscopic HD camera kit in April.
I found myself wearing the hokey glasses, captivated by a simple 3D ceremony. It was like I was there again, among the guests. I wouldn't have believed it had I not experienced it myself. The thrill of 3D lies not in watching films like Avatar or Toy Story so much. It's in experiencing something real in 3D. Being once again immersed in a real event you were involved-in, on or off-screen.
Consumers now have 3D and HD TVs to enjoy 3D movies from home, and this may mean that we could be seeing more requests for ‘3D weddings’ as a result. Couples will be able to relive their special day more vividly than ever before.
Personally, I cannot remember much of my own wedding day because the emotion seemed to make it fly by so quickly. I can only imagine how great it would be to experience it all again the way modern couples can.
Isn’t this new technology wonderful?
